Walk and Talk Therapy
Want to get started with therapy but not sure if the traditional office-based sessions are for you?
Walk and Talk Therapy is an alternative to traditional office-based sessions that takes place outdoors, combining the benefits of movement, fresh air, and nature with the support of therapy. Instead of sitting across from one another in my office or virtually, we’ll walk together, creating a relaxed and natural environment for conversation and growth.
The gentle rhythm of walking can support the brain’s natural processing and can reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. The natural environment often fosters a sense of calm and clarity.
Baby Friendly Sessions
Have a baby that you’d like to keep with you during therapy? As a new parent, I remember how challenging it was to not only find childcare, but feel comfortable leaving my baby early-on. Let’s take care of you as you’re caring for your baby.
Your baby is welcome to join you in session, in a stroller or baby carrier. I believe that therapy should be accessible during all seasons of life! The paths for walk and talk sessions are stroller friendly and have accessible parking/public restrooms. Sessions are being offered in central/downtown San Diego and East County.
Potential Benefits of Walk and Talk Therapy?
Reduced Stress & Anxiety: Walking outdoors activates the parasympathetic nervous system, helping you feel calmer and more grounded. Walking with a therapist while exploring stressors can make the process feel less overwhelming.
Mind-Body Connection: Engaging both mind and body in the therapeutic process can help you feel more fully integrated and present.
Enhanced Processing: Movement can improve blood flow and stimulate both hemispheres of the brain, which may support deeper reflection and problem-solving.
Increased Comfort: Sometimes traditional therapy can feel intimidating. Walking side by side rather than sitting face to face can feel less intimidating and more comfortable, helping you get to the heart of the matter.
Boosted Mood: Exposure to fresh air and natural light can help lift mood and increase energy levels.
